script-a s the subequatorial Nicaraguan sun rises over the elevated misty plains of the Esteli region, modest and humble people are beginning another day of meticulous work on our over 300 acres of dark, rich, volcanic soil, that showcases this surreal, intense green color of tobacco plants in their prime.

As if the time stood still for hundreds of years, almost like allowing the people to reach their craft’s perfection, the seed is still planted by hand in specially designated areas. Later the seedlings are transplanted into the carefully ox-plowed fields allowing them to reach maturity. Our tobacco plants are inspected daily throughout their development and at the right time, hand picked, leaf-by-leaf.
